Six volumes of Notes on Early Clark County, Kansas have been published by the Clark County Historical Society.  Most of the stories in the first six volumes are about events occurring prior to the 1940’s.  There is a growing concern that local Clark County history from the mid 1900’s to the present may be lost without some consolidated documentation.  To accomplish this the Historical Society is seeking residents, as well as former residents, who began their lives and experienced that period of time and who can contribute to this documentation.

A concerted effort now is being considered to publish Volume VII which would include history not previously included in the first six volumes.  Hopefully, committees can be formed from the Englewood, Minneola, Ashland, Lexington and Sitka areas of the county to accumulate, compile and edit this information.

Suggestions as well as volunteer contributors are being solicited for this project.  Please contact Tony Maphet,  Curator of the Pioneer Museum for further information.   Phone (620) 635-2227    Email
